What is a Meal Plan?
A meal plan is a CUC dining package all students, faculty, and staff can use at our dining locations on campus. Meal plans include both Meal Swipes and Cougar Cash (dining money). Some plans offer both, while others offer just one or the other. See our Meal Plan options here for more details.
What is a Meal Swipe?
A meal swipe refers to the units you use to access meals in Crossroads or use in Big Cats when Crossroads is closed. Each meal swipe allows you entry into Crossroads or a $7.00 value in Big Cats.
Do I have to buy a meal plan?
Meal Plans are required for residential students and are included in your room and board rates with the University. Residential Meal Plans
I do not live on campus; can I still buy a meal plan?
Yes! If you are commuting, you will select “Commuter Meal Plans” on the Meal Plan Webpage.
Can I get a to go meal from Crossroads Dining Room?
Yes, food can be taken out of Crossroads using our reusable container program, OZZI. Our reusable containers cost $5 and can be purchased from the cashier in Crossroads. Once you swipe your card you can fill your container with your favorite foods and exit the space. If you choose to also dine in at Crossroads during the same visit you must swipe your card a second time.
When can I start using a meal plan?
You can start using the meal plan on the Wednesday before classes. The dining plan option you choose is linked directly to your student ID card.
Can I change my meal plan after selecting one?
Yes, you can change your meal plan, but it must be done within the first week of the semester.
What should I do if I lose my student ID card?
If you lose your ID card, report it immediately to the Public Safety on campus.
Are there any vegetarian / vegan options available?
Yes, CUC Dining offers a variety of vegetarian and vegan options at all dining locations. Our team ensures that these options are clearly labeled and readily available.
Can faculty & staff purchase meal plans?
Yes! Faculty / Staff Meal Plans are available to be purchased at our Dining Office right by the Crossroads Dining Room in Koehnke Community Center (KCC).
How do I add more Cougar Cash (dining money)?
Cougar Cash can be purchased on our website as well as by visiting our Dining Office right by the Crossroads Dining Room in Koehnke Community Center (KCC).
How do I check my Cougar Cash balance?
You can check your balance at the register in our dining locations or by adding your meal plan to Payment Methods on the Everyday App. Curious about Everyday? Read more about our mobile ordering app here.

Will my meal plans expire at the end of the semester?
Resident students meals reset at the end of each semester. Cougar Cash (meal plan $) carry over from fall semester to spring semester as long as the student remains a resident.
Can I make changes to my meal plan once I sign up?
Resident students have until the first Friday of the school semester to change their meal plan, they may do this by contacting Residence Life.
How often can I use my meal plan?
Meal Equivalency and Meal Exchanges are limited to 3 meals per meal period per student.
